Color Throwdown #422

Hello throwdown fans! It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge and Barbara Anders has this fun color palette - turquoise, orange, navy and hot pink - to get your creative juices flowing!

Since I'm still plugging away at making Christmas cards, I decided to go with Reverse Confetti's Merry and Bright stamp set with matching bulb die.  I popped them with foam tape over a snowflake embossed, brushed silver background.  To add some sparkle, I embellished with tiny silver snowflakes.  The stitched frame is from Reverse Confetti's All Framed Up die set.  Ink colors are Peacock Feathers, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry distress inks.  I also used Night of Navy by SU.

We have not just one, but two guest designers this month and they both have a boatload of talent!  Welcome to Leigh Penner and also to Kim Singdahlsen!

For more details on how to play along, head on over to the Color Throwdown Blog and you'll find the information on the right sidebar!  You can also visit the rest of the design team's creations for more inspiration (click on the links below):

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge

I'm squeaking in under the wire for the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge, but couldn't resist inking up the new to me Season's Tweetings PI image! I colored with Copics using colors from the background plaid from MFT's Plaid Patterns Merry and Bright 6x6 pad.  The snowflake was created using the two smaller dies from SU's Bigz Snow Flurry die on silver glitter cardstock.
Thanks so much for stopping by...this is a hurried post since I'm needing to head out to work soon!

Mojo Monday #477

Welcome to the last Mojo Monday Challenge of 2016! The design team will be taking the next 3 weeks off but we'll be back the first Monday in January! In the meantime, it's contest week and that means YOU have a chance to win some free Verve stamps if you play along! Check out the details over on the Mojo Monday blog.

I started with patterned papers from Jillibean Soup's "Christmas Eve Chowder" 6x6 pad and made this sentiment tag as the focal point.  I added crystal coarse glitter by Martha Stewart to the snowflakes. Here is what else I used:

STAMPS: Peace on Earth (sentiment) and Holiday Treats (tag) - both by Verve.
INK: Soft Suede (SU).
DIES: Tagged Rectangle and Flourished Trim dies by Verve; Let it Snow and Branch Out dies by Reverse Confetti.

Inspired By...All The Little Things #35

It's Saturday and that means a new Inspired By...All The Little Things challenge! I just love snowman images and I guess you can say I love snowman collections because you'll spot them throughout my house during Christmas and into January. I let out a big SQUEEE when I saw the inspiration photo and I did a double SQUEEE when I saw that Silke Ledlow was our special guest this week.  She's one of my early stamping idols and how ironic that I made my card before I knew she was guesting, because the Flourishes stamp set that I used was a blog candy gift that I won from Silke years ago!

I struggled with photographing this card and simply couldn't capture all the glitter and shine that's there IRL.  I added Glossy Accents to the holly berries and fine carrara marble Martha Stewart glitter to portions of the snowman and to the snowflakes.  I think I sparkled for the next 24 hours as well - lol!

STAMPS: Warm Winter Wishes (Flourishes).
PAPER: Cozy Christmas 6x6 pad by Simple Stories; X-Press It Blending Card.
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Always Artichoke (SU).
ACCESSORIES: Holly die by Reverse Confetti; Snowflake border punch by Martha Stewart; Stitched circles and rectangle dies by Lil' Inker Designs; Rhinestones (SU); Corner Chomper; Copics.

We'd love to see how YOU are inspired by the challenge photo, so get your creative juices flowing and join us!  You can link up your creation HERE.

I decided to share several photos of some of my smaller "cool friends" that are in my kitchen and family room...

The little sign on the right says it so well...
"Some of my best friends are flakes" (grin)!

Freshly Made Sketches

A card for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge #265. I was doing the happy dance when I saw the circle element which meant I could once again use this great Reverse Confetti wreath die. I already had the Night of Navy stitched quilt background die cut panel in my leftover pile.

The entire card uses nothing but dies.  The wreath, banner and sentiment are all Confetti Cuts by Reverse Confetti.  The stitched BG is by Lil' Inker Designs.  Easy peasy and fun card to create!

Color Throwdown #421

It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge with Amy Rysavy as our hostess this week! LOVED these fabulous colors - aqua, purple, celery green, and black - along with the sparkle and shine in the inspiration photo!  Here's my take on it...

I knew I wanted to use this green plaid glitter cardstock for the borders on my card (a clearance item from Michael's several years ago).  I primarily used all dies by Reverse Confetti except the stamped sentiment. I had difficulty photographing the purple which tends to look almost black.  The wreath was popped up with foam tape.  I used the negative garland die cut which was a little tricky to add the CS behind it, but glad I went with that plan since so much of the wreath is raised with all the layering of the leaves and berries.

STAMPS: Bring on the Merry (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Lime Green, Royal Purple, Avocado, Iced Aqua  (Reverse Confetti); True Black and White (PTI).
INK: Versafine Onyx Black (stamped x 3 using a MISTI).
DIES: Winter Words, Edge Essentials, Leafy Wreath Confetti Cuts by Reverse Confetti.

A big thank you to Marisa Ritzen, our November guest designer! Be sure to stop by her blog and say hello!  She has another fabulous sample to add to the rest of the design teams' cards HERE to inspire you!

Congrats to Kevin Bray - our guest star stamper this week!  We hope you'll play along for a chance to become our next star stamper.

Mojo Monday

Good Monday everyone! Are you ready for a new Mojo Monday Challenge? It's the last Monday of the month so that means a different shaped card sketch is on board.  I went with a 4 1/4" square card which will still fit into an A2 sized envelope.  I used a retired Verve stamp set - Warm Winter Wishes - which is still one of my faves to paper piece and add some Polar White Flower Soft and a button!  The Snowflake Trio of dies are by Reverse Confetti.  Patterned paper is from Recollections' Blue Christmas 6x6 pad.
