Inspired By All The Little Things

Top of the mornin' to ya and happy St. Patrick's Day! There is a fabulous new inspiration photo over on the Inspired By All The Little Things blog! I fell in love with all the happy colors in the profusion of flowers - the shades of pinks, corals and yellows!  It was the perfect inspiration for me to break in a new die set I recently purchased.  I tried to talk myself out of "needing" this Rose Flurries 3D set of dies by Altenew, but too many papercrafters created such gorgeous cards that they pushed me over the edge - lol! middle name is Rose and my birthday is next month, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I'll have to admit, I spent several hours on this card.  I wanted a watercolor look, so went with coloring with Zig Clean Color brush markers then blended with an Aquapainter.  I wanted to make it easier for me to use this set in the future, so I divided up the dies into tiny ziplock plastic bags with all the leaves in one bag and then two different florals went into each of the other bags.  Each of the larger flowers have at least 3 or 4 dies that you layer up to get all the wonderful dimension, so it would have been a real challenge to try to keep them straight on the single paper sheet they were packaged in.

STAMPS: Direct Messages (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Kraft, White by PTI; Master's Touch watercolor CS.
INK: Versafine Onyx Black.
DIES: Striped Sentiment Strip Cover Plate by MFT; Direct Messages banner die by PTI; Rose Flurries 3D die by Altenew.

Sure hope you get a chance to play along!  Would love to see what you create!

CAS(E) This Sketch

It's Fri-yay and I've got the weekend off...the sun is shining...and I feel like I'm seeing the light at the end of the winter tunnel! I had to ink up this fun sun image from Reverse Confetti's March release for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  Donna Mikasa has a great sketch that was perfect to bring some sunshine to paper.

I started with a light watercolor wash BG using Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.

STAMPS: My Sunshine (Reverse Confetti).
PAPER: Every Little Bit 6x6 pad and Buttercup CS by Reverse Confetti; White by PTI.
INK: Buttercup, Bumblebee, Sunshine dye inks by Reverse Confetti.
DIES: My Sunshine (Reverse Confetti); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (MFT).

Color Throwdown

Another Wednesday means another Color Throwdown Challenge is up and running! This week, Amy Rohl is our hostess and she's chosen green, eggplant and white as our colors.  I decided to forego the use of shamrocks and went with this single tulip image from Flourishes 'Tulips for Friends' retired stamp set.

The card base was sponged with Seedless Preserves distress ink using Altenew's Watercolor Stripes stencil.  The next Stitched Rounded Rectangle panel (die by MFT) was stenciled with Tim Holtz' 'Bubble' stencil.  I then angled two frames (Reverse Confetti 'All Framed Up') and added the fussy cut image. The sentiment (from Reverse Confetti's Beautiful Banners set) was white embossed on black CS.  I dug into my button archive for this Rich Razzleberry button by SU.

Shades of Pink

The Paper Players challenge is a color challenge this week and it's all about shades of pink. I'm using the sketch again for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and chose some pretty patterned paper from KaiserCraft's "The Lake House" pad to pair up with a Fantasy Floral Die from Altenew.

This was an incredibly simple card to throw together!

I quickly colored the leaves with Zig Clean Color brush markers and the flower was layered with 3 different pink pieces of cardstock from my leftover pile.  The sentiment is from Verve's "Small Phrases" stamp set.

Dreams Take Flight

Another graduation card completed...and no challenges involved.

I began with this alcohol ink background on Yupo paper where I used a silver metallic and turquoise and lime green inks.  I love this fun butterfly image -stamped with Parakeet ink - from Reverse Confetti's Butterfly Dreams set which I popped up with foam tape.

Here is the inside of the card. This was white cardstock but for some odd reason, the photo looks like a cream color.  😳

DIES: Leaves Cover Panel, Pierced Round Top Layers, Butterfly Dreams - all by Reverse Confetti.

Viva La Verve

Good Monday everyone! It's been snowing all day...not sure when it started since I got a late start thanks to jet lag from changing to Daylight Savings Time yesterday!  Looks like at least 4" has accumulated so far.  Thankful I worked the weekend and now have today off, so no driving needed and more stamping time can be accomplished!
I'm finally getting around to playing with the sketch for Verve's March Viva La Verve challenge.

I wanted to build up my stash of graduation cards and this sentiment from Verve's Sparkly Dreams set was perfect for that! Inside the card, I added "Congratulations On Your Graduation". The butterflies were white embossed on heavy weight vellum, die cut with Verve's Butterfly Dreams die and adhered with a tiny glue dot.  I also used two die sets by Reverse Confetti: Lacy Scallop Circles and Edge Essentials. Patterned papers are from Papertrey Ink's Bitty Big series: Aqua Mist.  As I generally do when stamping sentiments, I used my MISTI to stamp it 3 times to get a really crisp and clear result!
